Electronics Technician
Help build and test the electronics behind our innovative heat pump technology, from prototypes to production.
Job description
About BlueHeart Energy
Founded in 2016, BlueHeart Energy set out to solve one of the biggest challenges in energy: creating heating and cooling systems that are efficient, affordable, and sustainable.
After nearly a decade of research and development, we introduced the BlueHeart engine: a breakthrough thermoacoustic technology designed to deliver high performance with minimal energy use and zero carbon emissions across residential and industrial applications. Our work is driven by innovation, precision engineering, and a commitment to redefining heating and cooling for a sustainable world.
About The Role
As our Electronics Technician, you will play a hands-on role in building, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting the electronic systems that power our thermoacoustic heat pump technology.
Working closely with our hardware and test engineers, you will assemble and repair electronic control boxes, wiring harnesses, PCBAs, and electrical subassemblies, ensuring every component meets our quality and safety standards.
With our first prototype in production, you will join at an exciting stage where your technical skills and attention to detail will directly contribute to prototype development, product reliability, and the transition towards scalable manufacturing.
What You'll Do
Assemble, modify, and repair electronic control boxes, electrical panels, PCBAs, and electronic subassemblies using technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
Build and maintain wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and heat-shrink application.
Perform PCBA rework and repair, including soldering and desoldering of through-hole and surface-mounted components.
Install and connect electronic components, including power supplies, relays, sensors, protection devices, terminals, and connectors.
Inspect electronic assemblies, solder joints, wiring, and connections to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with technical specifications.
Perform electrical and functional testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, and other laboratory equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults, supporting engineers with failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and technical improvements.
Document assembly work, repairs, test results, and configuration changes while following electrical safety and quality procedures.
What We're Looking For
HBO-level technical education in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience in electronics assembly, repair, maintenance, or prototype manufacturing.
Strong practical skills in soldering, PCBA rework, crimping, wiring harnesses, and cable assembly.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, and technical documentation.
Confidence using multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, and standard electronics testing equipment.
Familiarity with electronic design tools such as Altium or KiCad.
A practical, detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality, safety, and accurate documentation.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hardware, development, and test engineers.
Good communication skills in English.
Nice to have: IPC certifications or knowledge (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-630, IPC/WHMA-A-620), experience with SMD rework, industrial control cabinets, power electronics, ESD-controlled environments, or engineering change implementation. A valid driving licence is an advantage.
What We Offer
Salary range between € 3,600 – € 5,100 monthly gross depending on experience.
Opportunity to participate in the ESOP scheme, directly linked to company value creation and individual performance.
25 vacation days.
Tailored learning and development opportunities to support your continued growth.
Access to OpenUp, because we prioritize mental well-being.
Participation in our pension scheme with employer contribution.
Commuting allowance, in line with our travel policy.
A hands-on role in a purpose-driven scale-up, working closely with innovative engineering teams and contributing directly to the development of sustainable thermal technology. Learn more about our mission here.

Interview tips

Get to know Blue Heart Energy
Before your interview, take some time to explore our career page, learn about our technology and products, and read our company values. You don’t need to become an expert: we’re interested in what caught your attention, why you’re considering BlueHeart Energy, and what you’re curious to learn more about.

Come prepared to talk about your experience
Our first conversation is usually focused on getting to know you: your career journey, motivation, experience, and what you’re looking for next. As you progress, interviews become more focused on the role and may include technical, functional, or leadership-related questions. Think about relevant examples from your experience that help us understand not only what you did, but how you approached it and what you learned.

Use clear, concrete examples
We often use the STARR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result and Reflection, to explore your experience. Before your interview, think of a few examples that demonstrate skills relevant to the role. Be specific about your own contribution, decisions and results. Communication is also part of what we assess, particularly for roles involving collaboration or leadership, so aim to keep your answers clear and structured.

Be curious and be yourself
An interview is a two-way conversation. Come with questions about the role, team, technology, challenges or anything else you genuinely want to understand. Our process may include both online interviews via Microsoft Teams and an onsite interview, giving you the opportunity to meet people you could be working with and experience BlueHeart Energy firsthand. Prepare well, but don’t rehearse a version of yourself, we want to meet you.
